If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that one of my resolutions this year was to slow down a bit more and take time to really enjoy the little moments. I want to say "yes" to my kids more and "no" a lot less.
So, in an effort to enjoy a simple pleasure today I bundled Jaxson up in his rain gear and we headed out to find the best puddles we could to splash in ! Let me tell you, he was so excited! Normally I am shrieking at him to stop because he generally finds the muddiest puddle and soaks himself when we are trying to get into the car. He couldn't believe that I was actually giving him permission and encouraging him to do so.

I live in Northwest Oregon and have gotten A LOT of rain too. I think I'm gonna need to get me a pair of cute rainboots like yours.

LOL. My toddler also got pretty muddy today. And how about that wind now? After the snow, there's storm.

I love it! I think it's awesome to allow kids this freedom and exploration, it's healthy and not a big deal to clean up. Unless of course the mud is trampled throughout the car :(

ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I let my kids go out and dance in the rain once and now they beg to do it during every rainstorm :) It's always the little things that mean a lot.
